St. Christophers offers Christian education programs for all ages. Children actively participate in our worship in a number of ways. Seasons of the Spirit is available for children Age 3 through grade 6. Before a baptism, the priest invites children to the font to get a closer view of the sacrament. Toddlers come up from the atrium or nursery for the Eucharistic canon and receive communion along with their families. Children from 2nd grade on may serve as acolytes or sing in the choir. Teenagers may participate in Journey to Adulthood and Confirmation. Bible studies and discussion forums are available for adults. Approximately 75 children from pre-kindergarten through high school attend Christian Formation classes on Sunday mornings. These classes are led by a group of about 15 lay teachers. Please permit children and their teachers to take communion first at the 10:30 service so they can get to class quickly. We encourage adults to assist parents as needed.
This is an international lectionary-based curriculum that invites our whole faith community to imaginatively engage scripture through activities, discussion, current events, and the arts. The 10:30 a.m. Rite II Eucharist welcomes people of all ages in church. Immediately after Communion, Church School for age 3 through 6 grade begins. These children, along with their teachers and assistants, are asked to come forward at the very start of Communion, departing for their classrooms after they have received Communion. The "Seasons of the Spirit" program ends at 12:15 p.m. |

There will be two age groups: preschool through age 3 and kindergarten through third grade.
The curriculum makes varied resources available on their website, www.spiritseasons.com, including a weekly "Spirit Sighting" connecting scripture to a current event, posters sets to visually convey the biblical stories, and a collection of music for the church year. A program using this music will be offered at 9:15 every Sunday during Adult Forum for children through grade 6. Children are also encourged to share in the worship service with their families, join their teachers and classmates for communion, and exit together to attend classes after the service.
Seasons of the Spirit is unique. It's more than a curriculum - it's a resource for the whole congregation.
Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. this class is offered for younger children who may be too old for the nursery but too young to sit in church. They will come up with their teacher for worship in time to receive Communion and accompany their teachers and classmates to Church School following Communion.
